Chip is a co-founder of SHA and has over 15 years of experience in a wide range of hydrogeologic/environmental evaluations and remediation at industrial facilities, landfills, and other hazardous waste sites, including ten Superfund sites. His particular expertise is in the application of geochemistry to the solution of hydrogeologic and environmental problems. Chip has been involved in sites impacted with a wide range of contaminants, including petroleum (e.g., gasoline, diesel, heavy fuel oils, lubricating oil, waste oil); chlorinated solvents; coal tar; PAHs; PCBs; surfactants; blasting agents; metals (e.g., arsenic, chromium, lead, mercury, nickel, vanadium); and elevated pH (e.g., up to 14). He has recently served as technical lead and project manager for the Beede Waste Oil Superfund Site RI/FS and Mohawk Tannery, R.I., including oversight/direction of human health and ecological risk assessments. His expertise also includes geological/geochemical applications in the petroleum and mining industries. Chip has presented and published papers on these topics at local and national forums.
