John brings to Sanborn Head’s Energy practice 30 years of significant industry knowledge and experience in the design, engineering, and startup of energy facilities.

John is a technical leader in the preliminary design, engineering, and cost studies for gas transmission, gas liquefaction, and LNG vaporization plants. He specializes in taking projects from planning, through to commissioning and startup. John has also authored procedures manuals and trained operators for many of these plants.
He serves as a team leader on a range of energy projects. In addition to managing teams and projects on behalf of our clients, John enjoys developing new relationships and project opportunities.
John is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University and Stanford University, respectively. His favorite part of the job is the professionalism and collegiality of our company, plus the ability to develop client relationships that lead to meaningful and challenging projects and growth for the team.
When he’s not helping his clients, John likes outdoor activities with his family and friends, especially activities that involve water. He loves to travel and explore new countries and cities. John and his family restore and manage property.
