Vern Kokosa, PE

Vern has extensive experience in geotechnical engineering, environmental site assessment and characterization, hydrogeologic evaluations, and public water supply well installation and permitting.

Vern is our resident expert for construction monitoring and construction quality control testing. His vast expertise includes geotechnical engineering for power plants, multi-story buildings, interstate highways and bridges, treatment plants, pumping stations, retail shopping centers, and dams. Vern has a degree in civil and environmental engineering from Clarkson University and master’s degree in civil engineering from California State University at Long Beach.

Vern’s favorite part of his job at Sanborn Head is working closely with clients as part of a team to address complex problems and build new projects. He finds the working relationships he has developed over the course of his career to be the most rewarding part of his job. Vern is an active member of NAIOP.

Outside of the office, Vern is an instrument-rated private pilot and an avid golfer. He considers a great day one that consists of flying somewhere to play golf, then flying home again.

Vern is a Professional Engineer in California, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
