Shawn has expertise in geotechnical engineering design, implementation, and in situ soil testing, and has authored numerous publications, reports, and presentations on the topics. Shawn completed all of his studies at the University of Massachusetts, including his PhD in civil engineering with a geotechnical specialization.
Shawn values building strong relationships with his clients and working alongside them to fully understand their needs. He believes that successful projects – economical and constructible – are grounded by strong client relationships.
Outside of work, Shawn is active in both the American Society of Engineers (ASCE) and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). He is a member of the ASCE’s Leadership Training Committee and is the ACECPAC chairperson for the Vermont Member Organization. He also serves on Vermont’s ACEC Legislative Committee. Shawn was named the 2017 Engineer of the Year in Vermont.
In the summer months, Shawn enjoys activities such as boating with his family, mountain biking, road biking, scuba diving, and hiking. In the winter you can find him snowmobiling, skiing, and playing hockey (when he can find the time!)
