Join us for an important webinar to gain a comprehensive understanding of Colorado’s Reg. 31 and its implications for your landfill operations.
Beginning February 2026, Colorado will implement stricter landfill methane emission standards than federal rules, including expanded requirements for gas collection, new controls for closed landfills, and more rigorous methane monitoring using advanced technologies like satellite and aerial sensors. These new regulations are expected to impact municipal solid waste landfills across Colorado. With compliance deadlines approaching in 2028, now is the crucial time to initiate planning and budgeting.
This webinar will introduce Sanborn Head and our services, walk through hypothetical case studies, discuss remote methane monitoring, outline the compliance timeline, offer guidance on advance planning and budgeting, and conclude with a dedicated Q&A session to address your individual questions. Register now!
Webinar Details:
- Date: Wednesday, March 4, 2026
- Time: 12pm MST | 2pm EST
Key Regulatory Changes Discussed:
- More landfills will be required to install gas collection and control systems.
- Closed landfills must consider new emission controls, including biofilters and enclosed flares.
- Third-party and alternative methane monitoring will become mandatory.
- Open flares will be phased out, with enclosed flares becoming the standard.
Why Attend?:
Upon completing this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify new emissions standards that will take effect in 2028.
- Examine hypothetical case studies to understand practical applications of Reg. 31.
- Describe methods for remote methane monitoring.
- Detail the Reg. 31 compliance timeline.
- Formulate strategies for advance planning and budgeting related to Reg. 31.
Attendees will have the opportunity to submit their questions in advance. Visit the webinar registration page to sign up add your questions today!
